I have had the Mendota Chelsea for 5 years, love it, but recently my rear burner would not light. The manual advised that there is a 9V battery behind the control panel that activates the rear burner and Mendota recommends changing annually (I didn't recall this when initially reading the manual after installation). Problem is, Mendota gives no guidance as to how to remove the cover for the control panel or otherwise access this battery after installation. I could not see an easy DYI solution for me, and my only option would be to hire a professional to change a 9V battery (which sounds crazy). If I have to hire a pro, so be it, I'll likely get the whole unit tuned up. Before I do so, if anyone has any experience with this, I would appreciate any guidance you can provide.

Just a matter of taking a couple of screws out.
Thank you! I do see the screws. And I see how the cover plate would clear the main two gas knobs, but the lower switches (igniter; on/off; rear on off) do not appear like they will easily come off. I am nervous that if I try to pry them off, or pull them off, I wont be able to put them back (are they supposed to come off?). See photos attached.

Take the 1st pic from a little further out, so showing to the right of the ignitor

Just take the screws out, and you will see!(take 1/4" nut driver & rotate screws counterclockwise)
Do not take the switches out. They just stay in the plate. I would recommend a lithium battery for longer change intervals.
