Our check from the govt made it to our savings. Decided to turn it into a physical asset, bought a Tractor Supply 25 ton countryline splitter. On sale this week $899, local store offers free assembly and fluids.
Anyone run one of these? My shoulders feel better already, won’t miss the maul, it was fun but getting a bit to old.
Just have to figure where to store it and how to get it into my trailer to get to camp.

I’ve been thinking about one a splitter as well

get one of those clamp on trailer wheels, a come-a-long,and a solid ramp( piece of plywood ) - eazy peazy, I do not like trying to lift and push stuff like a splitter anymore, so I always look for mechanical advantage ways. My splitter beam is made from 2, 6'+ x 4" x 6" x 1/4" wall tubing welded together with a 3/8" top plate ( full length) welded to that. Just a little mass there.

I picked one up a year or so ago. I like it. The only observations are

There could be a couple of guards built to protect the oil filter and the engine. When splitting bug stuff on occasion the logs can drop and bounce close to the oil filter.

Mine has a Kohler engine. The air filter cover screw is recessed in the top of air cleaner. Water falling on the air cleaner leaks down under the washer and into the air cleaner housing. When I got mine it was outdoors and found evidence of corrosion on the inner cover and even have found a puddle on top of the inner galvanized filter cover. I ended up sliding an O ring down the shaft under the washer on the outer cover and that seemed to do the trick plus I normally keep it covered or indoors.

I dont use the vertical mode. I have to throw all my rounds from my wood lot onto my truck so its easiest to park the splitter next to the truck and transfer the rounds to the splitter then throw them into my loader bucket.

I’ll check out the trailer wheels. Have a 5x8 dump trailer, might try using the come along to load it up. Very happy it fit in the garage. Getting kinda crowded.

I ordered a new splitter Monday off of log splitters direct. It's supposed to ship out this coming Monday and I can't wait to get it. One of my cousin's have the same county line you just purchased. You should be very pleased.

That old thing. 2007 klx 250s, two brothers exhaust, rejetted to a whopping 20whp. Its a great bike slid it 120 ft at 55mph a few years back, picked it up and rode home, turn signal, grip needed replacement. As did my pants and gloves.
Big fun on a slow bike, spend most my time riding thru the Tioga State forest. Used to ride sport bikes, no self control. Can ride it hard and not kill myself.

3 of them here! By chance does your username indicate a Polaris sled interest?

Sorry for the derail!
Username reference to Yamaha ATV. Enduro is a 2002 DR650. No more sport bikes for me. Like Old Greybeard, no self control.

I guess you could call this a stimulus splitter though I had planned on getting a new one before all the stimulus payments began. It replaced a at least twenty year old brave 20 ton that I got from my father that bought it used. I gave it to a family member. It still ran and worked just fine and all I ever replaced was the motor. I just wanted a new one and after seriously looking at some cheaper ones I broke down and spent the extra $ and went back with the brave. I had such good luck with the old brave and I couldn't find a reason not to go back to them. They aren't fast....to most folks standards they are slow.....but I never found that to be a aggravation for me. I can't wait to put it to work this weekend lol.

I bought a Super Splitter once I got the first stimulus check.
