Hey guys,

we just moved into our new home and trying to figure out the pellet stove - Harman XXV.

we spent a good few hours cleaning it out and all seemed to be well however it’s started shutting down and showing an “Door open” warning.... it seems to do this when the fire is up and running so maybe a heat related fault?

the door is not open and we’ve tried opening and closing it, my guess is the pressure switch may be faulty and that’s why it thinks the door is open when it’s not.

any ideas?

Hi did you ever figure this out? Our XXV does almost the identical thing :(

yeah we cleared out the chimney from the outside. Huge buildup of soot in the flue causing a pressure differential
Thank you for replying!
Was that soot something that was not supposed to happen or something expected with normal use but just needed to be cleaned?
Also what tool did you use to clean the soot? Going to try this asap :D

Common maintenance for a wood burning appliance :)

the chimney hadn’t been cleaned in a while. Took the outdoor part of chimney and used a wooden stick to break the build up then vacuumed it
