Loose Door Gasket Enviro Venice 1700

This is the second season with our Enviro 1700. The gasket is a bit loose and can pull out of the channel around the glass. It's easy to get back in and looks to be in fine shape. But I'm concerned others may not be as attentive as me and will get an incomplete seal when the door is closed.

• Is this normal
• If not normal, is there some high temp adhesive I can use to anchor the gasket in the groove?

I have had the same issue with some stoves. I think they sometimes are a little stingy with the gasket adhesive at the factory. As long as it's in good shape it's fine to reattach with some RTV silicone. Let it setup overnight before firing the stove back up.

My enviro i just noticed the gasket right at the door latch is letting in some air. I just put a new gasket on before last burning season. I have a full load in currently. Am I ok to burn this? Should I re gasket the entire door? Could the latch have loosened? I can see a slight light from the flame through the door gasket and stove. Why would it do this after 1.5 season using it? Maybe 4-5 cords total.. I have 2 little ones in the house. Now I'm worried.

Does it seem to react appropriately to turning the air down? I would let the stove cool after this burn and try the dollar bill test / adjust the latch as necessary. I would not panic if the current fire seems reasonably under control.

Fire is under control burning well. 450° with a good secondary burn. I noticed today when I got home from work there was some black on the glass in that area. Hasnt been black once all season. I thought maybe my wife turned the air down to fast when she loaded it while I was at work. I can definitely see a little light between the gasket and firebox from the flame. I do have a 12 inch section of gasket still but I assume its better to just replace the entire thing instead of this section. Should I be safe tonight with everyone sleeping?

Was this on the side where the door closes? I assume your door is like mine and you can control how tight it closes. That may be easier than redoing the gasket if it’s not falling off.

I once started a thread where my gasket got wet and almost completely came off when opening the door - it was stuck to the stove side. The next day, everything was fine and that same gasket is still in use years later.
