Understanding that burn time is always relative to the heat loss of the house. Burn time at 40º is going to be much better than at 10º. When the fireplace is being pushed for heat, the burn time could drop to 4 hrs.

Understood thanks

It's good that you are taking the time to explore options. Call around to local dealers too. Maybe someone has an FP30 they are trying to move.

Yah i am so happy i randomly came across PE's line of zero clearance units. And you mean call around to find used fp30s in good condition?

Used or perhaps a new one that a customer backed out on. It never hurts to ask.

Just curious, what are they asking for the FP30?

FP16 is 1.6 sf firebox. Way too small

Enjoy your new ZC fireplace! I think you're going to be running it hot and hard to provide enough heat for a house the size of yours, but at least that should ensure you're burning clean.

For a lt of the time it will be ok. When it gets extra cold outside it can act as a supplement to the primary heating system.

My home is not big by any means. If i had a 3000 sqft home i would agree with you

They are built in Duncan, British Colombia which has a maritime pacific climate. It's pretty mild.

Its going to work perfect in my size home! Thanks for your concern though
Glad you think so. Have fun loading it every 4 hours or so. Hope you have patience to burn the coals down and run the main house heater while that is going on. Can't say you weren't warned.

Like i said i appreciate your concern. Stay glad

Wanted to update you guys on my fp16. Its proven to heat my home to 80 degrees easily even in 20 degree weather. Ive been loading the firebox on 20 degree nights with as much as possible normally 5-6 logs at around 8pm. I wake up at 530am and theres always coals for a relight and the house is between 70-74. This little 1.6 pumps out so much heat my wife gets uncomfortable.. so im learning to use less wood

Thanks for the update. I'm so glad this is working out well for you. It sounds like the house is tight and nicely insulated. Your wife will appreciate the extra heat when real winter settles in. If you get a chance, post a beauty picture with it burning.

Thanks begreen without you and this forum i dont want to think about what wouldve happen had i installed that insert. And once it gets colder i will certainly post a pic.. its near 50 degrees right now

The 3rd picture is the firebox stuffed for an over nighter(6 logs). Real feel temps in the single digits tonight and our house is 74°. Hoping for warm coals tommorow morning.
