I have searched the forum and I have not been able to find a definitive answer to what the little grey dial on the MT Vernon AE control board actually does, and what the settings are and how the impact stove operation. I have just replaced my control board with a new one and the old board had it set to "3" so I set the new one up the same.

The OCD part of me though really wants to know what that actually does and how the setting will impact the operation of my stove?

Help?

Thanks
Andre

The board is manufactured to work in more than one stove. The dial is actually set the parameters for the stove it is installed in. Feed rates mainly

I just asked my dealer the same question yesterday after having installed a new control board. From what he said, each setting represents a 10% change in fuel feed rates.

Probably more, considering at least for Santa Fe going from 6 (default) to 7 is a 10% increase in feed rate.

The AE board is totally different than the other Quad control boxes. They do not change feed rates + or -. The other #'s are for European stoves. kap
