I bought a gas insert to put into my wood burning fireplace where there was previously a gas insert.
There is an existing non-insulated chimney liner of 4 inch but my new gas insert recommends a 3 inch chimney liner. Is this a must?
Is there a way to install it without replacing the chimney liner?

Ask the insert manufacturer
