I can't decide on which Lopi model

Hey all.... Trying to pick a new wood stove. I can't seem to decide between the Lopi evergreen, endeavor or the Liberty. Thought I wanted the Rockport but I don't want to deal with the catalyst. I like the Endeavor but the Evergreen seems to have better numbers for efficiency, log size, etc. I'm heating about 2,000 sqf. And then there is the Liberty with a HUGE firebox to help but its numbers to seem a little dismal for its size.

Any owners of these stove care to help out?

How well insulated is the house? How well will the heat circulate out of the stove room?

I am a bit biased toward the Endeavor because I prefer a N/S loading firebox.

Don’t get caught up in the numbers. They are all solid heaters, the Liberty is a monster! Age of the home and insulation will play a huge role in choosing the stove.

The endeavor box is square. It can be loaded either direction. It’s one of my favorites.

Yup, like the PE Super. Both are good approx. 2 cu ft workhorses.

Insulation is would be your typical standard insulation 20 years ago. Good amount of windows and doors in the house. Kitchen, dining and living room are basically open floor plan. Bedrooms on the both ends of the house and an unfinished basement.

In Maryland, I think the Endeavor would be sufficient. The Liberty would be loafing on all but the coldest days. This is assuming that the stove is going on the main floor and not the basement.

I was in a similar debate last fall. My house is slightly larger and I am in Maine, so I went with a Liberty. I am not sure which numbers sounded disappointing to you, but the stove performed extremely well last winter. In terms of that verus and Endeavor, I think I could have gone smaller and been okay 85% of the time, but I opted for the larger firebox and the ability to load it up for the really cold spells. All other things being equal, I would assume that the heating demand in Maryland would make the Endeavor a great choice.

We have the Endeavor heating 3000' no problem even at 16 degrees outside in WA state. Two level home and last year we added a ceiling fan close to the stove and it made a huge difference in the air circulation to the upper level. Also Travis Industries warranty and customer service at least in my experience is great.

I appreciate the input. I am probably going with the endeavor. The evergreen is nice because it qualifies for the tax credit and on paper puts out more BTU's for a smaller firebox than the endeavor. Figured a slightly larger stove like the endeavor would have higher HHV and BTU's but I'm not a stove engineer to figure that all out. I like the look of the endeavor better and just don't understand why its a hair off from qualifying for the tax credit. I do believe my stove dealer said it would next year when they "update" the bio mass credit law.

Did it get put on the biomass list for tax credits? I am torn between the Endeavor and Evergreen. I like the door better on the Evergreen, but like the stepped top Endeavor and love the face you can load it N/S or E/W, only thing right now that has me leaning towards the Evergreen is the tax credit; if it were offered for the Endeavor I would probably be at my dealer tomorrow throwing money at them.

The evergreen did make the list for tax credit. I almost went with it, but ultimately decided on the endeavor. My dealer informed me when I purchased the Endeavor it will most likely make the list for 23'. Since my install will take place in 23' and if the Endeavor makes the list I should be able to get the credit. BTW, my Endeavor ships Friday!! I'm ecstatic that it can be loaded N/S and E/W!
