Hi, just wondering how much a wood stove install costs ball park? Its a simple install, just straight up through roof. Approx 10ft pipe outside straight up and approx 6ft straight up inside. Its a BK Ashford 30. I just dont want to get ripped.

Hard to say, but probably at least double what it was last year. Everyone and their brother has decided to do a major price hike this season. Based on that, if I had to guess, it would be around $4500-$5000.

I would say closer to 8k possibly more depending on lots of variables

Wow, not including stove purchase?
No that would include a stove. Your price is probably fairly accurate without the stove price

Wow... glad I bought when I did!

Price hikes... mostly due to material cost increases or increased demand?

From us it's all material increases. We actually dropped our markup percentage to help keep prices down a bit

Wish that was true of most shops. Is Gilbertsville in your service area?

It's hard to guess without seeing the setup and knowing if there are any obstacles or challenges. Some installers will balk at using something they didn't supply, especially if they don't have that brand's parts to remedy a complication. This can be a time-sink requiring a return trip which adds travel time, etc.

Ok, i neglected to say i already have the pipe. Im talking labor to just do the install?
It depends on the pipe. You might have trouble finding a pro to install customer supplied pipe

Gilbertsville isn't too far from me. You might want to see if the boys over in Kintersville will drive out there. Great folks. https://fcpros.com/

Salters is the usual go-to for your area, but I had a real bad experience with one of their subcontractors during my installs, well-documented in this forum. The way they handled the whole thing was such a turnoff, that I won't recommend them. Their store burned down a few years ago, but they've re-opened not far from you.

The BK dealer in KoP is also supposed to be good, I think BKVP is fairly friendly with those guys. They wouldn't budge of list price when I was buying two stoves (figured they'd at least give a discount on delivery!), so I never actually dealt with them on any personal level, but I've never heard anything bad about them, either.

There used to be a solo guy not far from you, his outfit was called Chimney Smiths, but he has retired.
