Hi, I have my dvl double stove pipe ready to run to the wall thimble and I have the triple wall duravent through the wall kit installed. I'm having a big problem working out how to connect the bit of class A Duraplus chimney pipe that come through the wall thimble to the dvl double pipe in the house.
Can anyone tell me exactly what adapters I need and how to do it, it's driving me crazy!!
Thanks

I am no expert in installations but while researching my own install from what my installer did, I came across info that 2 different brands of pipe are not allowed to be used in the US. Also no adapters are to be used to make certain brands work together. Have zero idea if this true and the reasoning behind it. Just thought I'd mention it so you don't run into any problems. Unless I'm reading your post wrong and there is not 2 different brands....

DVL and DuraPlus are both the same company pipe.

Does the install have the DuraPlus wall thimble installed (SDP-WT)?

To connect the DVL, you will need their chimney adapter 6DVL-ADC

You da' man begreen. May I ask where all your knowledge in this field comes from? You work(ed) in the industry? Just curious is all.

Perhaps this is the adapter I need for dvl to chimney with 6DP-KOUT

The through the wall kit is 6DP-KOUT
The adapter I have is 6 dvl adc. Maybe that's why they won't fit. Wrong adapter for the wall kit?
If you have the kit, then the parts should all be there. It should include the 6DVL ADC and a single wall adapter too. Note the two adapters in the foreground for this kit.

Oh wait!... Yes it did. It came with both but even that silver one with the black collar doesn't fit well. It's like it doesn't slide over the triple wall bit that goes through the wall far enough. Maybe goes over it a half inch

In order to make a safe connection, the female end of the Chimney Section must fully contact the inside face of the wall thimble.

It looks like the pipe going through the wall needs to be longer

I agree, just not sure how it can be longer. The inner sleeve is recessed compared to the outer sleeve so it it always hits the black thimble part before the inner sleeve sticks out if that makes sense.
This is the view from on top of the chimney pipe that goes through. As you can see it's about a half inch recessed on the inner sleeve

So if I put one of the collars that came with the kit and the collar that came with the adapter together, one inside the wall thimble on the end of the chimney pipe and the other outside the wall thimble on the collar. Seems to work. Is that correct?

There is a single-wall and a double-wall adapter in the kit. I'm not sure what combo is being used but for DVL the shiny stainless adapter is what should be used. Did you try it without the black trim ring? I think it goes in and then gets turned to lock, but I haven't put in one of the new adapters yet so verify with the instructions or with DuraVent tech.

Called tech support and they said the the chimney through pipe touches the backside of the black section of the thimble and the adapter collar (best adapter to use is 6dvl-adt) should sit into the black thimble section and over the inner sleeve of chimney pipe. It'll go through black section about 5/16ths of an inch. It'll be loose but that's normal as it expands when it heats. I tested mine out and measured it and sure enough it was 5/16ths. Guess the loose fit is normal. He said that was it and to go ahead and screw it all together. Job done 👍
Thank you everyone for your help and knowledge. I can always rely on you guys to give me the info needed.

Thanks for the update. I will be replacing our old DVL with new stovepipe this summer and have ordered the new style adapter. This is helpful info.
