Is this allowed to do, having the wall support above the tee? 67B965F6-1978-4492-ABE0-ADE43850972C.png

Yes. Depending on the chimney manufacturer, some offer a bracket like this for above the tee where necessary. It clamps onto the pipe. The offset at the top may not be permitted by some chimney companies.

I was wondering if this could be done with Supervent. Does anyone know?

I think I answered my question. The installation instructions are a little vague but they say that the tee and stack go on top of the wall support and the 1’ class A section or insulated tee would go under the support.

Can you sketch out or show the problem that is trying to be solved? Supervent makes an intermediate wall support that might solve the issue, but it would be good to see what the problem is before suggesting this as a fix.

I’m trying to have my chimney installed close to this “dog house” . The circle I drew is roughly where the thimble will come through the wall and I think the wall support will be very close to the side of the dog house. Putting the wall support higher and having the tee just under would solve that problem but the installation manual doesn’t say you can do this.
I’m paying a chimney guy to do the installation anyway so it’s his problem, I’m just trying to anticipate problems.

The triangular support brackets can go above the tee support plate. They don't have to go below it.

Yes I believe this is their JSC6WS wall support, adjustable from 2-6” from the wall. I’ve been trying to find a place to buy this but it is impossible to find. I have the normal JSC6AWS you can get anywhere. I did call Selkirk and they said I would have to special order it through Lowe’s or Menards so tomorrow after work I’m going to Lowe’s to see if they can order it.
Also I remember reading you could only invert the legs like on a non-combustible wall.

That doesn't compute as long as the chimney pipe has the required 2" clearance.

I think they wanted it mounted to a concrete wall for a more solid mount. Just a guess but this is what I see in the installation manual.

If there is sheathing beneath the clapboards they are overthinking this. With 4 screws per support leg it will hold ok. There also will be a couple of wall band supports above it.

Different set of eyes on this, but the way I’m interpreting this caveat is only if you don’t have enough room for the support bracket to be mounted the traditional way, this seems to me like the work around if your coming out a basement wall and don’t have enough clearance between the bottom clean out cap to the ground on the T due to the bracket being in the way, don’t think that applies to your application.
