Where to buy gaskets for Lopi stoves?

I have two Lopi pellet insert stoves (stoves that fit into a fireplace).

As part of the yearly maintenance I pull the exhaust blower and clean it out which means replacing the gaskets (I am not talking about the rope gasket that goes around the door). Is there anyplace online that sells these or am I stuck buying them from my overpriced local dealer?

Well you sort of bashed Franks and many others so what do you expect?

You can buy sheet lytherm gasket material and roll your own.

If you know the configuration of that gasket (diameter, number and space of the bolt holes/slots) you may find that it is the same as is used on other stoves.

Then when I comment on his lack of tact with "How lovely" you defend the guy saying that I was the one who attacked him.

I still don't understand what incredibly offensive thing I said to produce this vitriolic response.

Fannks is/was out of line in that post, IMHO.

I know for a FACT that many stove dealers do tens of thousands of dollars worth of business by being on Hearth.com
They don't complain about that.
Therefore, they should not complain about a person trying to save a buck on gasket or accessories.

This board and site are not set up to benefit dealers (in general), but to benefit customers. Dealers who do their job well should not have any concerns about a gasket or tub of furnace cement someone buys online. As a matter of fact, when I was a dealer I didn't like to deal with all that little stuff.......PITA.

In any case, it's no different than someone talking about the price of pellets and where to get a deal.
Let's keep it helpful - meaning no posts unless they are actually helping.

For the record I *do* support my local dealer. However they aren't setup to easily take orders for minor parts such as gaskets. It usually involves a couple of phone calls and an email and they end up shipping it anyways since "local" is a relative term - they are over an hour from my home.

I was just looking for someplace I can order gaskets quickly at reasonable cost without all the hassle.

Then for the "record" that is all you should have said.

Now to your problem there are only a few different precut combustion blower motor gaskets.

You can as I already mentioned roll your own from sheet Lytherm (HVAC supply houses usually carry this).

Then you can visit most non big box hardware stores and buy a length of self adhesive backed window gasket material of the appropriate thickness and use it as a temporary gasket until you run down a genuine Lopi gasket.

Note there are warranty and certification issues with using the window gasket and the sheet Lyterm as these are not original Lopi parts.

Some folks have even used RTV instead of the gaskets. Once again the above statement applies.

There are basically 2 sizes for Combustion Blowers - Small 6†or Large 7â€

So for my Avalon Astoria Large Size Stove, the Combustion Blower is the Large blower Gasket

This 7†Combustion Blower will fit:
* Yankee FS & Insert
* Avalon Newport FS & Insert

You can also measure the gasket on your Lopi combustion blower as a final check.

Ill add one more thing the RTV should be rated at 600 degrees or better as the combustion blower will thermal off at 475 and I'd want that gasket to hold past that.

There are various silicon sealants that are rated all over the place, I prefer Rutland brand and usually use nothing rated less than 600.

I'm not a pellet stove expert either.

I just like my exhaust path well sealed and the seals not subject to meltdown or flare off (and yes silicone sealant will burn if pushed past its ratings).

has much better anti vibrational qualities( read quieter!)

the housing gasket will even work

I bought a sheet of ceramic fiber paper from a local hvac distributor . 15" x 24" x 1/8" 2300 Deg. F. for $17.00 Thats about 4 years of burnpot , combustion blower gaskets .Not a bad deal.

Speaking of gaskets. Does anyone know of a source for the cap gasket for a 3" clean-out T? I looks and feels like a piece of high density foam. I have search about and came up empty.
