Even a better price! Thanks Bob!

Harbor Freight had them for less than $5 last time I checked...

Thanks Bob

Free shipping sealed the deal at Amazon. I added in something else to get it over 25.00 so that brought it within 2 at Harbor plus shipping.

I was at the Harman dealer to purchase pellets and asked if there was any updates to the auger assembly on their stoves and was told no. However the stoves running in the showroom "seemed" quieter than mine, auger motor and pellets dropping into auger assy...than last year..

Most of the time stoves are going to seem more quiet in a showroom over a room in a home just because a typical showroom is much bigger than a room in house.

+1...Not to mention the fact that there tends to be more background noise - other units with blowers; salespeople talking to customers; mood music...

Been burning my XXV since 11/2006 and have no regrets.

You will love it.

Congrats!

Excellent. I am really loking forward to it. I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve all over again. Thanks again for all of the help guys!!!

I wouldn't count on the dealer to know everything. I had my harman installed last fall and then saw on here that someones floor was scorched under their hearth pad. That got me looking into the hearth pad requirements and what the dealer provided me with. They gave me a type 1 pad which is only ember protection. I had to explain that the stove needed a type 2 board which is a thermal protection. It took my dealer a few weeks to do their checking to make sure I wasn't lying until they finally said that I was right. The current manual for my stove on the harman website doesn't have the same requirement but there is no way id recommend only using an ember protection board with a P61.

Well the stove is installed and here is a picture of it for you all. Excuse the appearance of my family room. I am going to be painting in there in about 2-3 weeks. Wanted to get the stove in there first before painting in case the stove installation crew messed up the walls at all. So here it is! Enjoy!

Looks awesome.....I agree that the XXV is the best looking stove of the Harman line. It was my final choice but the wife liked the look of the P61A better and, well, that's what I ended up buying. Strange that I paid for it but she got to decide which one I bought. Women! They're such a pain in the *ss...

Very nice, looks great.

Thanks! Yes, I am loving it so far. Too mild yet to really see what it can do, but for the fun of it, I burned a bag of Turmans on the first day when it was 58::F outside. ==c Had to shut it off though once it reached 82 inside. Couldn't stand it anymore. So now I just have it set on 72 in the room temerature mode, and it still hasn't kicked on yet from the 82 degrees 2 days ago. It is still slowly falling.

Great looking install ! You will love it when it is needed ! !

The only real issue I have with my Harman Advance is the noisy auger (at least it's noisy to me). Other than that it's a great stove. And I'm convinced that while some people (like me) are sensitive to the auger grinding noise, other people would just ignore it and never even think about it.

In my case I've just resigned myself to the noise, but I'm still thinking that at some point down the line, I'll either find and retrofit a completely quiet auger, or figure out a way to mount this one with some noise isolation to keep the sound from transmitting.

Yeah so far, I really haven't noticed the auger motor running. I can definitely hear the pellets falling from the hopper into the auger, as well as the fans running, though, but none of them are really annoying to me. Just not sure as the age on the auger gets older with more wear to it, if I will start to hear it or not. I guess I will find out!

bcb1, was your auger noisy right from the beginning? Or was it quiet when the stove was first installed and then gradually started getting louder with age?

recent mod to the foot plate on the P61 now makes it OK to use just ember protection...the P68 was like that for some time but its easy to see, if they are side by side, how much more air space was build into the 68 than the 61 of a few years ago.

Ok that makes sense now why they took the thermal protection requirement out. Thanks for the information!
