In The Woods
I hauled the rest of the Cherry out this morning (three loads) I still have another 1.5 loads of that Red Maple just down the trail from this.

On my way back with the first load I stopped in the area by the brook we have a table, you can see in pic 6462 the mess I need to clean up so we can use that area.

Good eye TimJ, I actually should thin some of them out if the deer don't. The bigger Beech in that area is rotting at the base.

What I see in 6464 is an absolutely beautiful piece of real estate. Nice property you have their ZAP! Really nice!

The wife and I are talking about what we have to do in order to buy a piece of wooded property. Now I just need to figure out how we can afford it. :eek: Would like to have at least 50 acres. But 75-100 or more would be better.

Thanks Gasifier, we lucked out on getting it, one night when I was talking with the previous owner he ask me if we're interested..........yes! He never put it on the market or we would have never got it, some people in this area still think the previous owner still owns it.

He had a guy from Colton go to his door for permission to hunt this year, he told him the new owners do not allow hunting.

Have you looked at any land yet? With the economy,taxes going up each year it's a big investment but well worth it if you get the land you want.

I have been looking around a little on the SLCMLS site. We are looking for a place heading up in the mountains but not too far away from da Burg. Your area is in our sites along with a few others. It would be nice to not be more than an hour away. Preferably less. If you know of any other sites or real estate agents, let me know. We will not be doing anything right away, but are beginning the looking process. Maybe I shouldn't be looking. ;lol Probably find a nice place or two and not be able to go through with it right now. ;lol;hm;em

Beautiful. I enjoy all the seasons,even scorching hot summer days.But there's just something about heavy forest in wintertime.Especially with a creek or stream running through it.

Bogydave, I'll be pounding it out in the woods around the house this winter, I still have some nice Cherry that needs some attention on the northside of the house.

I agree Thistle, the woods in the winter is very nice.

Beautiful pics as always Zap. I noticed in that shot by the brook that the trailer is tracking to the right in the ruts. How well does it track on the side slope trails? I've thought about going to a small tractor/trailer setup instead of skidding at the camp but I have a lot of side slope spots.
 
So far it's been good, in that picture the right side of the trail is lower than the left side. Nice that your back posting, how did your summer go?
 
Beautiful summer but I have been on the road pretty havily for work since July and have a lot more projects than time. Might have to have a load of logs dropped at the camp <hangs head>

I didn't make it into the woods. I realized that I needed to change the oil in the Foreman so I did that which turned into cleaning the garage.

Very nice looking place Zap. I'm quite envious. My wife and I keep hope alive to have some mountain property. Not going to happen soon, unless of course, Powerball lightning strikes! ;-)

Thanks Tramontana (Big Sky), I hope you get the property you want. We went from a 75 x 100 foot lot in a small town to this in a smaller town::P it's alot more work but well worth it.

Garage cleaning, I'm due on that. We brought down the Christmas Tree from storage overhead, I had the polesaw in the way along with other things so the wife mentioned that it would be nice if that area was cleaned up, how much do you charge? ==c
 
Geez Zap, what a nice hauling rig and property setup. Beautiful indeed. Good looking stacks too! We don't have the hills or that size of stream, but we have 40 acres and love getting out into the woods once the leaves drop (and the neighboring deer hunters go home). I use a Kawasaki Mule and small trailer to haul cuts the 1/2 mile up to the barn/processing area. Having the Mule makes it kinda fun!.

I'm not very good at it, I get 80% of it cleaned and then I don't know what to do with the rest of it. I hate people who's garage is spotless!:p
