I had a minor problem with my Napleon 1900 stove (bought in 2007).
I had been buying parts from Obadiah’s in Montana for years and they had the records of my maintenance purchases. Got Woody on the phone and explained how I was going to fix it.
He was outraged at the thought I felt I should fix it myself.. He reminded me of the Lifetime Presidential warranty on the fire box. Next thing I know he’s going to bat for me with the manufacturer to get me a new one and voila, a new one arrives in my driveway.
The only condition was that I destroy my old one. Never seen a car crusher in action before. Does a pretty good job…. Same as Obadiah’s.

Whoa.

Whoah indeed!!

Those pics and Obadiah’s both are just plain cool.

In fact a warranty actually honored on a wood stove is &^^*^% cool.

Gotta ask, what cracked?

The primary air intake manifold had a small crack. But since I ran the thing HOT 24/7 for five years and over 35 cords of every concievable wood, I guess I just expected something to fail. I really was't expecting the warranty to kick in. But Obadiah's made it happen.

The other thing that was important was the record Obadiah's had of all my maintanance purchases over the years. That and the fact that they have a direct line to the Napoleon management, make things happen pretty fast.

How cool!

I can tell you I bought my Esse from Obadiah's. He is one great person ! Honest and like you got to see for yourself,,, he's there for you after the sale,,, big time! If he feels you are owed something,,, he'll make sure it happens. He runs a great business! He even took the time to make you tube videos,, taking an Esse all apart along with other stoves, so home owners could see first hand how to maintain their stoves,,,,, what a great idea and dedication to his customers! Woody your the man;)!

Yea, I've noticed that big box stores are no longer selling wood stoves in our area. I asked why and it was because they would sell a stove to someone, who would not maintain it and then complain about its quality after something failed - through poor mantainance. The big problem with these stores is that there is no single person you can contact who will coach you on such issues and/or look out for you in a personal way. The "sell and forget" attitude of such stores is what hurt them. I don't want to "toot" their horn too much but this is definatly not the case with Obadiah's. They are there when you need them - in an honest God fearing way.

Now that is what I call a compact stove. Going to need real thin splits though.

Yep. Put it out by the road with a "FREE" sign on it & next week we'll have a new member here with a BAZILLION questions on how to get it to draft...

Ha. Part of the deal with the auto wrecking yard was that they get to keep the scrap metal after they crushed it.

Great to hear that this has worked out for you. Kudo's to Obidiah's! How is the new stove working?

How is the new stove working?

Its working great and cranking away as I type. I still love that stove - even after six years.
Btw, I've got more shots I could put up if anyone were interested.
