We cut a ton of wood yesterday, and she saw a piece (center of owl) that she wanted to keep as a picture frame. Well she decided to turn it into an owl, and a pretty good one at that! Here it is:

That's really cool, WS! She ought to start making them over the winter, and selling them on Craigslist. Betcha she could make some play money off of those.

How do you keep them from cracking?
 
Use teak oil, just a quick rub down with a rag. They will soak it up and bring out the natural colors of the wood. Mineral oil works too, I use that on my cutting boards :)

Thats actually pretty cool. yea teak oil should help with cracking
