Last summer my neighbor had some trees cut that were leaning over her pool. Since the area is all vines, prickers, and poison ivy i waited for winter to get it. We used the tractor to skid them into a clear section of my yard and then bucked and moved them to my splitting area. Good thing she took this one down...little soft in the center. There is more there to get but i ran out of time.

Very nice Legrandice, Nothing better than wood thats close by. There is a cherry in my neighbors yard that is looking like its starting to lean, He mentioned that he wanted to take it down. We may do it in the next few weeks.

Good work Legrandice. I like the tractor. I am jealous of your chains on the rear. I need some for mine.;lol What type of wood you got there?

Thanks...that little tractor gets a lot done. The chains made a huge difference. Before i was slipping all over the place and had a hard time getting traction even with an empty bucket.

The wood is silver maple... not the best...but i am not picky.

It'll burn, I've cut a lot of silver maple this year. And still have another big one that needs to come down.

Just finished up dinner and gonna go stack a little maple till dark!

Hey Sean. Does the silver maple season any faster than the harder types of maple?

Yup it does.I had some that was good to go in 7 months after being split/stacked in sunny windy spot.Normally its 9 months to a year though.

I agree, I had some this summer at 17% after 6 months. Havent burned much since I don't need it yet but burned a little to test. Great wood to grab if you are short one time!

Today we got the remainder of the wood from my neighbors yard

Had to drag some of them out to cut

Then onto the back of my yard. This tree fell over 4 years ago. I have been trying to get it since. It is pretty wet and soft back there. Last winter i thought it was frozen only to get the tractor pretty stuck in the mud. The wood that was previously cut was frozen in. I put a new chain on the saw and cut up a bunch to haul out monday.uploadfromtaptalk1359255160806.jpg

Got out and split for a bit today. Stacks are full so time to make room for a new row.
