The brother in law completely disassembled this truck a few years back. I have been looking at motorcycles figured this would be better as if I don't have enough to do with three kids 5 and under. Anyone want to guess what engine is going in based on the intake laying by the rear tire?

Big Block Chevy !!

I am not partial to any particular brand but mixing brands doesn't agree with me. It's just not natural.

Drive train is out of a lincoln and is a 460 with C6 tranny and 9" rearend. He drove it for a few weeks before tearing it apart and says its a beast.

It will be slow going as I have never done a car that is torn down as far as this one. I will be pulling the cab in the next few weeks so I can have the frame repaired where a PO had the mustang ii front end installed. I don't really like the welds there and will have them cleaned up. Luckily I know a body man and will be getting a friends and family discount. Once the frame is done the cab and front clip is going to be redone and I will reassemble the engine and go from there. The truck needs a wiring harness and steering column but for the most part is there. I am torn between leaving the flare side or finding a straight bed.

Either bed looks nice on those old trucks and even better with a wood floor kit. That really is a good looking cab! Check out LMC Truck they are the best I have found for classic parts. There buisness is old parts to the extent that they have oem replacements made just for there catalogs that you couldn't dream of finding anywhere else. Plus a ton of accesories. Any idea what color you will paint it?

Pete

My f150 is golden bronze. I am thinking that color a satin black or a dark grey. I will need a core support and cab mounts, it's amazing the parts that are still available. I have the strips for the bed and will decide what color wood after it has been painted.

Two things leave it a step side and put a fuel cell in it, I never liked the fuel behind the seat

I like the step side. If you look under the mufflers there is a 10 gallon fuel cell.
