Wow - agonizingly slow, AND there were several cuts in the video! A 1:18, and 1:47 while the worlds slowest winch pulls the log up the chute, 2:01 while the winch cable is removed, then 2:29 the worlds slowest saw magically 'jumps' from scratching the surface to about a bar width deep. I give up after that!

I think in the cold and snow, I'd actually prefer doing a bit of work to keep warm. I always say the only thing worse than working in the cold is standing around in it!

I learned how to knit and created a sweater before the 1st piece was cut and split lol..

I assume this is a home made machine? Painfully slow for a wood processor, but perhaps still faster than all of those steps done individually. If he got a much faster winch, a sharper chain with maybe more RPM and leverage on the saw, and split while winching, output would be dramatically improved.

Probably homemade, and it does say 'Poor mans...' so it could easily be from scrounged parts, etc. Sounds like it may be powered by a briggs lawn mower engine. Plus it is somewhat of a science to get hydraulic components which all 'work' together... you can easily get too big of a cylinder, too small an engine, or a mis-sized pump. Best thing to do with that would be to part it out for cash, then buy a nice saw and splitter.

That wood will rot before it gets to the end of the processor.

Seriously, I'm not real quick but could have had that 1st log c/s/s by the time he got it to the fine example of a saw that was mounted.

well i suppose the slow processing time will give the other trees plenty of time to grow and mature before he gets to starts working on them ......

The good thing is that the tree regenerated from the stump before he was done processing it. Now that's sustainable forestry practice!

Wood is seasoned before he is done with one log! I wonder how many books one could read while putting up wood like that?

Wow I sobered up and had to recharge while watching that..... It is very low impact by the looks of things. Maybe he can't do what he used to/has all the time in the world.

Meh. The guy built it, and it works. More than I could accomplish.

The chain looks like it's throwing decent chips, just looks like it is moving painfully slow.
