I already have my 4 tons of green team.was thinking of getting 2 more just in case.i can get stove chows.my question are they similar to green supreme? My asking is green supreme made my stove crazy dirty .thanx

For the price you OVERPAID for GT, you could of had CHOW, which are HOTTER!, FSU even BETTER!
Tried GT long ago before Lowes and GT decided they were Premium for $6 a bag, never impressed me.

Chows here at the HD outside Phila went up 10 bucks this year to 239.00 ton.
Still a great price for pellets that burn very Hot and would keep you just as warm as some of the overpriced popular brands.
they get a bad Rap due to being sold at Home Depot and being ashy but geez... Burned wood makes ash, some more than others..everyone has the're favorites..
deffinitley would not spend 300.00 or more a ton just for less ashy pellets but to each his own.

Soon I will be home for the winter (retiring) so I will be around to clear the pot several times a day. That's my thing with super heavy ashy pellets is it builds up on the pot and disturbs the flame pattern while at work all day. So was getting good pellets for the mid winter higher volume burn. guess that won't matter so much now ! But still not fond of some pellets that make a mess out of my beauty, like Natures Own for instance .

with few exceptions, just about everything is better than GS. lol I honestly don't think i'd buy them at $100 /ton.

the chow is pretty good value pellet. not super hot, not super dirty. 'average' is the best way to describe it.

Yes..
that's a good description for Chows..
Average/middle of the road pellets and the Price makes that kind of pellet worth buying.

Worth note is the Poster who mentioned about retiring and being home all day to break up the Ash that builds up.
good point and can understand those who are not home all day spending extra money for lower ash pellets.
I am retired also and being home alot to check the stove keeps me from spending Big bucks for some of those "Magic "Pellets..

That poster who is retiring would be me Tony and honestly had I known for 100% sure that this was coming back in July I probably would have bought all Energex Hardwood pellets for my mid winter burn vs bringing in some expensive DF's. But hey, done deal now.

I am thinking about a Craigslist stove or something for the basement. I do some wood working ( building custom wall clocks and such) and now that I have time I need to clean up the basement. In Ma we can't get kerosene heaters anymore, that's what I used to use down there. I don't know how people get bored in retirement I can think of so many things to do it's almost overwhelming. I'm really looking forward to not going out this winter and blow snow at 4am to get off to work on a ten degree morning with 30 MPH winds though !!! I'll gladly stay in the living room and scrape the pot, hand feed the stove, play my piano, drink coffee, stay warm, gladly, gladly, gladly. So much better than getting some dead diesel truck with probably frozen air valves going ! Oh man don't talk me out of this, last winter was murder on my hands and other parts.
