well I finally got my xxv delivered! I just wanted to know of any tricks to moving the thing. I need to get it from my front porch to the inside of my house. So there are no stairs involved. The thing weighs a ton! Anyone have any suggestions besides just picking it up. I was thinking a dolly but I dont want to scratch the enamel.

I left my 25pdvc on the pallet, wrapped it in a padded moving blanket, slid the dolly under and used ratchet ties around the stove/dolly to secure it. Used the teenagers to help tilt it back and then rolled it in and (gently) down the stairs :)

You miss the fun of stairs!

Furniture dollies. Pick it up once and set it on a good dolly or two and push it. Otherwise a stout two wheeler with card board or drops / blankets, and secure it with straps as mentioned. Let wheels do the work either way. But if you feel all bad ass and manly then just grab it and walk.

Got it in last night with the help of 3 friends. I started with 1 but called in the heavy hitters when I almost tore my back up. In place now just need to hook it up this weekend!!!!

When I got my XXV the dealer had mentioned to be careful moving it that the legs don't take a good bump. Said he had seen a couple with a leg broke off.

oh man that would suck big time. Any idea on how far the stove should be from the wall using an up and out kit?
