Yes it does. I think it was 9 or 10 mm. I used a ratchet. Did you find it?

I'm looking at it now. The bolt is actually almost center a hair left. It's about 1" back from the black lip under the ash shelf.

I see 2 stainless bolt heads one in the center and 1 towards the right side

Good that you checked. Some magnetic thermometers are notoriously inaccurate, while others are quite good. Condar makes a decent thermometer.
speaking of Condar magnetic pipe thermometers--I have one and use it to get the general idea of whether the pipe is running at a reasonable temp. I am wondering, once I am happy with the pipe temp and have closed down the air, couldn't I just put the thermometer on the stove (under the grill of my Alderlea T5) to monitor the stove temp? I have always wanted to monitor it but was too cheap to buy a 2nd thermometer. The markings go to 700 but the red zone probably goes close to 900.
