I finished off replenishing my wood supply today. Our winter was fairly mild this past year in western NC and I burned just over three cords of wood and we heat exclusively with the wood stoves. I worked up a large hickory tree that came down in a storm last year and a smaller oak tree that it uprooted when it came down. Then I cut down a medium size oak tree to complete my harvest. I ended up with about a half cord more wood than I burned, so that's a bonus down the road.

This stash is 12 feet long and 9 feet tall running three rows deep.

Here is a view of the bulk of my wood. My shed runs 32 feet and is three rows deep holding about six cords.

We have some sub-freezing temperatures coming out way this weekend, so a few more fires will be built. Here is where I stack my daily wood supply in the screened room at the back of the house.

I can store several day's supply in this area.

Looking great! I've been working on the 3 year plan and currently have a huge pile of rounds to split in my back yard. Just got the news that I can bring my splitter to a friends place this weekend so he can help me weld on the new wedge.

Keep up the great work!

Very nice..........makes one warm just to look.

Like having a large bank account, makes you feel good nice stacks!

Thanks for sharing this. Reminds me that planning ahead is always a good thing. Very nice looking spot you have there as well

Another NC guy here and +1 on the stash & the shed. Very nice!
I had about 9 cord when the season started and maybe burned around 2 total this year. Same thing, heating just with wood. Just starting to replenish as well. Have 2 pallets of pine for the shoulder seasons & fire starting. A friend's son works for the forestry service and has access to free wood per se. He offered me a couple of cord...the cost? Gotta spend a weekend helping them get & split wood. Sounds like a good deal to me, especially since I got me a Fiskars now.

Looks great!!!!

Nothing beats the satisfaction of having ur heat supply for a few years stored away.........Nice work!
