A year ago I installed an Empyre Elite 100 in my basement. Other then the frequent cleaning of creosote and a couple of stuck tube brushes to deal with, I haven't had any complaints. But in September I got a letter from my dealer informing me that ProFab Empyre is out of business.

Have any of you Empyre owners found alternative sources of parts? I would really like to find a spare blower motor before we get serious cold weather around here. It has a Fasco Industries tag on it with a customer part number 814185 on it. I googled it for a few minutes this morning but haven't had any success yet.

If it's just the blower you're looking for, try ebay if you have no dealers in your area anymore. I type in "Fasco blower" and a ton of fans came up.

Good luck.

Thank you Warno. I also got a reply by telephone from my dealer in upstate Michigan. He directed me to Alternative Heating Systems, they have it in both fasco and dayton for reasonable prices. He says that most of the other electrical stuff should be available from an hvac supplier. He is making his own firebricks in his shop for himself and I presume his local customers.

All of us Profab owners are SOL as far as warranty is concerned. I'd suggest you just maintain the proper additive mix and pray for the best. If/when the stove fails on a catastrophic level, you'll have to hope you can find a welder willing to fix it at a reasonable price, or it might just be best to move on to another brand if you have gotten several seasons use out of it. Then again, you may have no choice.
