I started with 185 bags and now I am down to 135 bags You know what that means. Yup I burned a ton and got 2 1/2 tons left plus a few bags. Also only 1 pellet stove cleaning this season burning Cleanfire Pacific pellets.

Have you burned a ton?

How much have you burned?

How much you got left?

How many times have you cleaned your stove and dumped out the ash pan?

Some winters I've burnt 3 tons, some few winters a few more even .... but we have been blessed this year here in the Shenandoah Valley. I recall one year I was running my pellet stove up at 12:00 o'clock high .... it'll kill two bags a day there and run you out of the house.

I started burning about second week of December when it got cold enough, I think I've burnt about 27-28 bags now.

I did a shut down just before Christmas and did a good clean of just the stove and restarted. I usually average a bag a day if I keep the temp set about 9 - 10 o'clock on the dial (it is a 270 degree dial, sets between 7:30 and 4:30 o'clock). Will shut down tomorrow for a few days as we will be gone, temps will dip into 30s at night, supposed to hit 50s & 60s in days for next 10 days?

I guess I empty the ash pan once every 8 - 10 days. I try to catch it before it's heaped up .... I have a special place for them. I also will open the upper door and break up any ash clumps ready to fall off burn pot lip and take the putty knife and scrape under the fire across the air holes that air is pulled through.

I guess I have about 30 bags out there left .... if it does ever get cold this winter I'll slip by the Southern States Farmers Co-Op and get more. They sell Statesman Pellets which are premium hardwood pellets low ash and burn just like the Hamer's Pellets I'm told they are in reality. Better than last ones I tried from Lowe's or TSC .... in my old stove.

I've burned over 100 bags so far; not at home so don't know full count but probably close to 115-120. I started with a cr*pload of pellets from last spring's firesales (12+ tons). Still got a whole lot of them (6 tons under tarp in yard, almost 3 tons in garage and 1+/- tons in the house). Should be good thru next winter unless something drastic happens in the next 3 months.

I've burned 80 bags so far with 117 bags left. Breakdown of pellets burned:
37 bags Barefoot
38 bags Turman
5 bags Green Team Platinum

I've done one full clean of the stove and flue. I have to vacuum out the ash about every 10 days.

Burned 65 remaining 85.

One ton burned, three left. Clean and empty ash pan every 14 days.

I think I'm coming up on 20 bags burned, might be less. It looks like Pellethenge in the basement, most of three skids' worth down there. I'm tempted to see if I can make it to spring without a deep cleaning (pull stove out of fireplace, ugh) at, I dunno, the 1.5 ton mark. Hmm, I might be skipping a year of buying at this rate.

burned 22 bags of pellets and 11 bags of corn mixed. only 25 bags of pellets remaining need to get some more corn

40 bags not including about 10 I wasted back in October messing with the stove settings and trying things out, running the stove with doors and windows open :D

I could certainly do with a smaller stove as it is only when it gets very cold does it actually do anything higher than idle.

I also have a wood stove which now only occasionally is used, however when it is the pellet stove gets turned off or we get roasted out.

Pretty sure I went past the 1 ton mark. Been below normal temps here since Christmas and the wind is awful. Gusts over 30 again today and still-3

Same here, it took a turn for awhile. Many days with gusts over 50, and subzero temps at night. But yesterday was temporarily a heat wave at 30. I've burned about 1 1/4 ton so far. Got about 2 1/4 ton left. Last winter we started about new years and burned 1 1/2 ton until the burning season was over. I've cleaned the pipe once so far this season but I see the need to do it again soon. Cleaned the ash from the stove maybe 5 times this season.

Burned about 25 bags got 75 left, clean the stove as needed, usually every 3 days or so.

Have you burned a ton?
WITHIUT A DOUBT

How much have you burned?
AROUND TWO TO TWO AND A HALF TONS

How much you got left?
A FEW BAGS OVER TWO TONS

How many times have you cleaned your stove and dumped out the ash pan?
I CLEAN THE STOVE WEEKLY ALONG WITH DUMPING THE ASH PAN AND A HEARTY CLEANING EVERY TON. THAT IS, PULL THE BLOWERS AND TAP DOWN THE CHIMNEY PIPE TO FREE UP ANY LOOSE ASH.

I burned one ton and then turned the stove off and have been using natural gas. Now, we all know gas is currently cheaper than pellets but I started heating in the fall with pellets because I had 2 tons in storage that I had paid for two years ago. It felt good not having a monthly gas bill through the shoulder season and early December because I was burning pellets that were already paid for. But after a ton, and with one ton left, I figured it was time to turn on the gas. (I'm not sure what I did made economic sense, but....)

It may make sense if you can snag some cheap pellets this spring. With the very warm fall retailers have had some decent prices on pellets. Sale on a premium pellet this week for $200/T. Lot easier to shop and pick and choose when your not worrying about being cold

Close to 1-1/2 tons so far but we started early in the shoulder season where a sweater might have done the trick.

We bought 4 tons for this year, and have burned 1.5 tons so far...we've had some cold stretches where the stove was running almost 24/7. I'll see if I use all 4 tons this winter, I am thinking I will.

I do a quick vacuum of the firebox and scrape the burn pot on Wednesdays, and on Saturdays or Sundays I do the same plus remove the back bricks and clean the heat exchangers. First cleaning only takes 5 minutes, the weekend deep cleaning only takes 10-15 minutes.

I shorten my cleaning schedule when I get a bit paranoid about the cold. The Bixby can go a month but was less than three weeks last Sunday with very cold temps predicted I cleaned them all. Tonights predicted low -24 to -28. They are all full and working hopefully without issue tonight.

I've burned 1.25 tons of Okanagan Douglas Fir and I just started taking a bite out of my Fireside Ultra. I've burned about 7 bags of the Fireside. I'm a PRO member at Home Depot so I got Fireside Ultra for just under 200 a ton; so I have about 4.8 tons of Fireside Left. I have about 3000 ft to heat and we have a 14 month old and another baby on the way so I like to keep it hot for her and the kids.

Funny, I saw a picture of my cousin who lives in Annandale, outside in a sweatshirt! He must be a tough guy?!

For a minute or two. I did the same last night to get a movie I had left in the car. -14 right now. Lot of schools closed or opening couple hours late while they try get the buses started.
Supposed to be close to 40 next week. Hope to find my key to the van if we lose enough snow. $50 for a key is stupid
