Hello, I'm new here and looking for some answers.
I have a englander ip25 and when it works it is good. But lately been giving issues. I think I have a bad exhaust blower motor. When the stove is cold and fires up it seems to be on until gets hot ( yes very clean) vac daily bang out back fire box and leaf vac out venting. When hot the motor slows as normal but when goes to shut down it calls for more air and the motor basically stops. I've tried another motor from another stove (different brand stove it a kozi) and it seems to do the Same thing. I have a new blower coming from USA from englander but shouldn't a motor from another stove just work? Or could I have other problems? Any info it appreciated
 
Welcome to the forum! How old is the stove? Is it on surge protection? Error codes? Last time you blew out the windings on the exhaust blower? Checked the vacuum switch line to ensure no cracks/splits or clogged connection port? Last time you checked the gaskets? Do you disconnect the vac switch when you do the leaf blower trick? Does the blower react the same at higher settings where blower is moving more air? Have you tried powering the blower directly from an exterior source (old power cord with appropriate spade connections is safest)? Always unplug when working in the cabinet...

Thinking either blower motor itself is overheating and shutting down; could lose vacuum on higher blower settings; control board causing issues.
 
Hi. If you have an E1 error code, try cleaning out the stint where the vaacum hose connects to the exhaust blower housing. Remove hose (check for cracks), and shoot some canned compressed air through the stint, it may be blocked.

Sorry forgot to answer this ... if the blowers match up on all the parameters, sure. If it really isn't the blower, then you would get the same problem. Since you tried another blower and it reacted the same, would suggest another problem all together.

Forgot to mention trying to by-pass the vacuum switch temporarily as a troubleshooting method ... always unplug when working in the cabinet. easiest and likely safest way to by-pass is to set up a appropriate gauge wire with spade connectors so you can just disconnect wiring on item to be by-passed and using the jumper wire ensuring that there is no way the jumper wire can short out on the body of the stove or other components. This is only for troubleshooting ... stove not to be run with safety devices by-passed.

Ok this eve i made adapter to plug direct to wall and ck both exhaust motors. Work good.
Took muti meter and test voltage at my wall plug in 120volt. Then at end on cord still good. Then plugged stove in and test voltage at control board that feed exhaust motors. Only had 90 volts. Took board out ck all connections. Did a reboot (push all 3 bottom buttons) measured voltage again now 118-120 at wires that would go to exhaust motor. But still won't make the exhaust fan run properly.

How could this vac switch cause the exhaust motor to act this way??

With exhaust motor bypassed and stove running the stove works perfect.
Have exhaust motor plugged direct to wall plug in. Works great just the motor will keep running. Just for testing and to get some heat in my house.
 
Sounds more like the board is what is causing the issues not the blower. May want to talk with England Stoves again...

Not the vac switch with the drop on voltage on the board just is a less expensive repair so wanted to make sure it was ruled out.

Please do not run the stove with the blower direct wired. Surge protection for the new board!

Only to get some heat in my house. Otherwise when I am gone to work it will all be unplugged
