It was 87 here today. Will be 45 overnight day after tomorrow. Looks like I'll have a fire this weekend.

lit the stove again last night for the first time in a week or so. London is doing what it does best, damp and miserable! The stove was more about making the place feel cosy and pulling the humidity down than warming the place, although it did all 3 very well. Stove room was at about 23C after a couple of hours, I was starting to feel too hot.

After today, it's supposed to hit some warmer temps. I'm glad to stop burning for a while and be warmed by a different source. I cannot recall a spring with so little sun.

Almost 90 today, will be burning tomorrow.

The difference between daytime and nigbttime temperatures is usually about 20 degrees here. I know this graphic will not impress anyone who lives in the desert, but it's pretty weird island weather.

We took 2 nights off last week when daytime temps hit 80'ish and lows were 40'ish....

but we're back at it now..... with highs in the 50's and lows around freezing. The new snow is now resigned to the peaks only behind the house and the runoff has begun....so we're definitely starting to warm up overall.

Because we have (chosen) no other source of heat but the BK....I'd guess we have at least a few weeks left here. We don't start to see lows consistently above freezing until at least June 1st. (we plant gardens June 1st-10th depending on the year).

FWIW.....we have no A/C cus we simply wouldn't use it much. If it hits 90 here it's a HOT day. ;-)

Crazy wet cool weather here again may have me burning again tonight. Looks like a hi of 50 with rain again today which means the house will continue to bleed warmth. We are now into the time of year we never even consider a fire but I guess never has come...........

Headed up north in a few hours (Northern Wisconsin). Low tonight 36 degrees. I'll be firing up the stove for sure to warm the place up. I took a picture last weekend because I know the "end-of-season" lurks around the corner!

Been burning right along all weekend. Rain and about 40 consistently. And of course I cleaned up and unplugged the insert and said we shouldn't need it till fall already...

Last 5 splits in the stove room just got tossed in. 3 AM! Why am I up? Oh well. 45F now. Brrrr. Heading for 70f today. Finally!

Haven't burned in a couple of weeks. Supposed to get around 50 the next couple of nights. Could be 1 or 2 small fires in our future.

Cleaned my liner and insert yesterday. I'm probably burning my last load of the season right now, but I thought that last week too.
