My nine-year-old daughter is very interested in identifying trees these days. She noticed an unusual one in our neighborhood a few weeks ago, and we've been watching it. We have not seen any flowers, but we wonder if we missed them. She thought the bark looked like Tulip Poplar, so we've been checking options in the Magnolia family, and we're wondering if it might be Cucumber Magnolia. We're in its range, but I'm not familiar with the tree. I tried to get a few good pictures to see if you experts here could confirm our guess or redirect us. Thanks for any help.

Thanks very much. Those VT dendrology sheets are great. There is even a video about the cucumber tree that didn't show much, but it was interesting to hear what he had to say about its growing with lots of tulip trees. That's our neighborhood!
