Looking for suggestions on a new OWB

HI, I'm new to this forum but not new to heating our whole house with an OWB. I currently have an 8 yr old Shaver that the bottom has rotted out. I remove all ashes at the end of the season (Nov to Apr), have the water tested every year and treat with the appropriate chemicals. Shaver OBW has gone bankrupt so I can't file a warranty claim so I'm looking to replace it. I don't have to worry about smoke (no close neighbors) and I need to heat a 1500 sq ft all brick rancher and DHW. I'm OK with filling 2 x daily. I only use hardwood and it is dry.

Did it have return temp protection?

Is an indoor boiler in an outbuilding (along with the winters wood) a possibility?

Others might be along with OWB input...
 
Not sure what you mean by "Return temp protection". Can you explain?

We built a "shed" around the Shaver stove with the front inside and the back of the stove outside.The rest of the wood is covered with tarps outside. The stove sits on a concrete pad.

Thought about welding a new plate on the water jacket but was afraid that that would just cause more issues. Water is no leaking in the firebox. It is leaking from the bottom of the water jacket.

Don't throw good money after bad with the shaver. If you got more than three years out of it before it rotted you are ahead of some people. I went from a 23 year old hardy h4 burning 12-13 cords per season to a heatmaster g200 and burned 7.5 cords the first year and only burned 6 3/4 cords last year. The g200 is a gasser , it is very forgiving and very easy to use. I have only had it bridge 2 times in two seasons of running and both times they were my fault loading the boiler. I don't know what your budget is but heatmaster has a legitimate warranty which they actually stand behind. They just came out with a GS series boiler which is the same boiler bones as the G series but they don't have some of the features such as a smoke bypass and reaction chamber viewing port.

Thx for the info. Glad to know that Heat master will stand behind their warranty.
