Hello...just interested in some recent discussion on your Hampton GC160 pellet stove!!! Most of the threads are old. Considering the GC160 and the Avalon AGP. We kind of like both however leaning more towards the GC160. Would love to hear your opinions!

If you want a reliable user friendly stove, get a Harman. I have a gci and the amount of wear parts that you will replace over time is considerable. It will fail. Motherboard, stir rod, and convection blower all died before the warranty was up on mine. Then the burn pot broke, went through 2 more stir rods, 2 convection blowers again, liner all went since. The cats iron liner failed. Think about that...cast iron a 1/3 of an inch thick cracked right down the middle.

It makes a nice flame and heat no doubt. I was over the moon with it when I first got it. But 2 feet from my stove is a wooden box with the correct torx and wrenches for every screw nut and bolt for tear downs. Whoever designed the stove was a tinkerer. It is a gadget. Engineering is what the stove is missing.

My neighbor has a similar BTU output harman for the same length of time and I have yet to hear about a single part fail.
