The new stuff does not have the same R value! And that's a good thing! Doc needs R .39 to meet requirements. The old stuff would not work here. He got the new stuff. The product label indicates that, the label on the shelf indicated that, the salesman said they don't even have the old stuff anymore, Doc proved it when he weighed it, WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT?

I don't care if it has pink elephants on it, it's going to get covered up by thinset and slate. It's obvious he has the right stuff. 100%

At thos point it doesnt matter to me unless i have to buy sn extra sheet in the feild i just bought a skid of the stuff labeled next gen

You know damn well I mean the old next gen that was labeled as such. This may all be a game to you. But I do it for a living and honestly the sales people at lowes and hd generally have no clue. Before I will use and durarock that isn't labeled next gen assuming it has .39 I need confirmation from usg and i need a new msds sheet.

What you are not getting is that there is still inventory of the old and the new product on the market with apparently no clear labeling to distinguish them as there used to be. The amateur DIY'er is not going to know the difference and a pro must know the difference.

Right. The first thing I though was how many houses have burned down because people used old stuff that was sold as next gen at the store here.

I'm glad it was the other way around and safer then the old stuff.

LOL You'd like our scale. It always says I weigh a few pounds less than the doctor's scale.

Well thank you that does confirm it. I still will need to get an msds sheet on the new stuff but good to know.

I doubt it. At least I can't find any of the old heavy stuff for sale anywhere. Not for a long time. It's all filled with perlite now.

No games, just the facts. There is no such thing as "old Next Gen Durock". If you are referring to the stuff that was actually painted "Next Gen", that's the same spec as the new stuff. Just different aesthetics. You need to go by the product label.

It's not clear why you don't trust the product label? I think you just like to create drama.

No it is not clear the product label does not say next gen like it always has. It does not list the r value so no help there from the label. And no if it is no longer labeled as next gen I need to get new documentation to carry in my trucks and submit for permits etc.

Why do you act like this is all a big joke. I presented a valid concern to doc. Because that is not the product that I have ever seen from durarock that has .39. It turns out I was wrong and it was fine but all I am saying is I still need the documentation as a pro.

I specifically told you in this case it is fine. I just mentioned that I need to get new copies of the msds sheets for the new product. Which yes is not new but it has a different name so the old sheets no longer apply.

No, because they don't have product for your old data sheets. And, as distributors, it's their job to have data sheets for all USG products they carry.
