Agitator keeps stopping and gets piled up, if I turn off stove and restart it works great again for quite awhile

Can you still hear the motor running? First thing I would check is with stove off see if you can grab the agitator and turn by hand, There is a roll/tension pin just in front of the motor that you can not see with out taking motor off. It might be sheared off or partially sheared off.
I am actually asking for my daughter who does not have internet .....I will talk with her and get back to you.....THX for your input .
