Wanted some exercise, so I stacked my neighbors wood delivery...

The neighbor had a wood delivery yesterday. I joked with him about stacking it... he said he was just gonna leave it on a pile. I really wanted to know how accurate of a “cord” was delivered... so, turns out it’s 134.9cu ft. :) Hope he doesn’t mind... he hasn’t been home all day. (Just kidding... we are cool like that)

$140 and around 80% red oak, 20% Ash. I think I may get this wood guys number!

At first I thought there was no way that could be a cord of wood since I typically use three standard sized pallets when I stack my wood . . . and then I realized that a) you stacked about 5 feet or so high and really packed the wood in and b) my "cords" that I stack are very generous cords as I put all of the chunks and uglies on top to really round it up.

5.3 high, 3.8 wide, 6.7 long ;) I actually rounded down a little bit also... I’m definitely going to buy a couple cords off this guy. $140 for oak... can’t beat it!

WOW, $140 a cord of Oak delivered? That's a deal, I'm getting a $120-130 a face cord of mixed delivered around my town

Sure you stacked the wood, but you left the bark and woodchips all over his lawn. Now he's going to have to clean that up. ;) :)

Lol... he didn’t open the pool this year. All his kids are officially out of the house, so I think that pool has reached the end of its life. I was thinking about asking him if I can shoot some slugs into the side... :)
 
Seasoned oak here goes for $70 a face cord....if I bought wood I would be all over the deal he got!
 
That's a Lomart. I am sure it has seen a good many years. Nice stacking job as well!
 
You shoulda brought the maul and made some smaller stuff as you stacked, to give him a better mix of sizes. Put a bit more effort into it next time.. ;)
Pretty sure that $140 for that wood is a deal almost anywhere..and more than a cord. How can you lose? >>
 
Great friend. That wood isn't seasoned, might be ok for a fireplace

Nice load. I too stack neighbors wood just for the exercise. Typically in the beginning of October the ends of driveways start filling up with piles and piles of splits. I jog from pile to pile stacking. On a good weekend I have been known to stack up to 18 plus cord at 8 or so homes. :) Manly
