tg69, TSC 3.39/bag at Alliance and Austintown. Other stores should price match. Have purchased propellets at TSC and Magic Spark at Menards (Massillon). Both good pellets.

Never heard of Magic Sparks (nor is there a local Menards) but I love ProPellets. About half as much ash, and burn noticeably hotter than the Kirtlands I started with. But just a year ago the local Farm and Home was switching from Kirtland to ProPellets, now they're switching from ProPellets to who knows what. I was able to get 4 tons of ProPellets over the course of the year, all while they were running sales.

Tsc website in Massillon and Alliance has them @ 3.39 right now, Need to read the barcode for brand. Hartville Contractors Supply in Hartville had ProPellets for 200 ton a couple weeks ago. Told me they have them all winter. Haven't been there yet. Rural King in Dover has their's for 160 ton. My local go to place is Farmers Exchange in Waynesburg, they carry Hamers. Were 235 ton couple weeks ago. They always have them.

Mine are actually burning hotter with less ash than last year's sets. Guess it all depends on what kind of flooring their running for production. I will say they don't seem to be as consistent as they have been in years past. Somersets are usually pretty sought after, I wonder if demand has outgrown the byproduct the flooring business can provide and they have started outsourcing material.

Where are you in SW Ohio? When I bought Pro Pellets I had to run up to Sunman, IN north of Lawrenceburg. I'm in NKY. Boone County

What is your local TSC? Mine is Florence, KY but there are many around me. Alexandria, Dry Ridge, However Florence is my closest.

I did buy Greenways at Orschlen's in Lawrenceburg / Aurora, IN. I'm in Union / Rabbit Hash. Thanks! Is Batavia or Harrison your store?

Sardinia. The Hillsboro store had Pro Pellets back in the fall. I was there last weekend and they had Somersets sitting out for $159.50. I didn't see Pro Pellets out but I didn't ask either.

I will say one thing, to get the one inch of ash in the burn put I have to put my feed rate on 4.5-5, where as last year it was set at 3.5. We haven't had any severe cold yet to really put these guys to the test this year

Magic Sparks are just rebadged Pro Pellets...so if you see them, grab em.

Tsc will price match other Tsc stores. Pellets were $159.50 a ton at the hillsboro Tsc and my local tsc matched them, they were originally $200 a ton at my store.
Wow wish I knew this. My buddy here at work said he paid $160 at his TSC but when I checked the one by me was over $200. I'll remember to check and ask for a price match next time! Actually I probably should buy another ton or two soon...

I swung by Orshlen's in Lawrenceburg, IN yesterday and they had Greenways there for $3.89 a bag. The $160 for Sets is a deal. I'm a little ways from Hillsboro though.

Anyone else notice Somersets are burning a lot dirtier this year? Nothing has changed with my stove, but the ash build up is crazy compared to last years.
It’s 2024 and here I am looking to see if anyone else had experienced my same plight. This is my first year using this pellet and I must say it’s the absolute last. There was so much of a dirty burn I can’t wait till the tin is done. I dread the creasote build up in my flue isn’t compromised. I just cleaned out clumps of build up in fire pot. After just 7 hours of burning I can see the ash and dirty build up. I will be doing a deep clean just to see if this makes a difference. I just did it after Christmas. I thought I might have an air supply issue but corrected any possibility. My stove is only two years old. It’s definitely these pellets. For 400 dollars a ton I wanna barf!

I think this is my last year burning somersets, I couldn't believe the amount of creasote that came out of my stove this last season. I can deal with ash, my Harman doesn't care. But the creasote is hard on stuff and almost impossible to get off. I spent 45 mins with a wire wheel on my die grinder and still didn't get it all off.

Been burning Somersets for several years now. I’ve had no issues other than a little more ash this year. Paid $290/ton this season. My Harman stoves burn them easily with no problems.
