Hello
I would put in the new auger motor with needle bearings! Like a car wheel bearing with all the little rollers, that is what needle bearings are!
Auger motors have sleeve bushings, and the better ball bearings but I have a friend with a Fahrenheit Furnace and the auger has an over hung load or a cantaliever effect which made a ball bearing auger motor leak grease around the shaft after only 1 month of use!! So he put the new needle bearing auger motor in and it has been working good all this season!
So what do you want in your stove?

Hello Don,

Anything that makes it easier to deep clean the stove is on my wishing list.
First: I wish it was easier to "get under the hood".

Example on the picture:
If you need to adjust or service these Mercury outboard engines, all you need to do to get inside is to turn the black knob 90 degrees, pull off the front cover, loosen two stainless handles and the engine cover can be removed. It takes 10 seconds, but the cover is still perfectly tight against sea water when mounted.
Note how harmonic the overall design is. A beauty to the eye.

If you are in a Damp Climate then the Selkirk Direct Temp Venting makes the ash drier and the stove easier to deep clean. :)

Sounds interesting. Do you have a link so I can study the details?

And another thing. My blowers work perfectly, but next year they will be 20 years, so you never know... Is it possible to get 230 Volt versions for a Quest Plus in your webshop?
I'm amazed of the bearing quality of these original blowers. They show absolutely no signs of wear, when inspected during the cleaning. I have always lubed them with the right oil.

Well since they're giving it to me, I'd like a fully programmable controller. Where I can adjust all the settings or program them to adjust on their own, and connect it to an on/off thermostat if I wish.

Other odds and ends, like easier access to the cleanout doors, could use improving, but I can do that on my own for free.

Hi
I just bought an Ashley Bay Front with the new controller with the remote control. Is this the controller you have?
I have to learn more about it but it looks better than the old controller with the 5 LED heat levels.

This is a standard installation option around here.
But I had not realized the advantage Don cites.
Not wishing to re-open the polemic < to OAK or not to OAK> , this surely this is a plus for the 'No OAK'.
I'm obviously talking about a simple 'straight from outside' OAK here.

Your 2nd and 3rd pics are the exact controller I have. It was used in like 3 or 4 different stoves.
