I figured a bucket or stacked pellet bags will do the trick but I almost chopped my finger off so man handling may not be a good idea. They seemed expensive at the time but considering I hurt myself, I wonder if it's not a good idea? Are those kits reliable? Easy to use? Or just a plain rip off?

Check with one of your local fabrication/welding shops and get a quote on making an aluminum one. I know i could build one cheaper than that.

I built a box out of 2x6 for mine and put a piece of 3/4” plywood on top. That comes out perfectly even with the top of my hearth. Then I had some metal flat stock that was 2” wide that I used to put on top of the box to wheel it out on. I put the box up tight against the hearth and lined up one piece of the flat stock on each side with the wheels and layed it down over the box and the hearth. I then countersunk a few holes and screwed it into the plywood and 2x6. Works excellent and didn’t cost me a thing

I’m also interested, I’m dreading pulling mine out soon. Does the harman service kit fold up so you can store it?

Paid $329 from dealer. Totally worth it. Folds up and fits in box about 18" x 4 x 4. Seriously considered making something but this is so
simple and easy to use. Just attach rails to bottom of Insert, bolt onto folding X support and slide out with ease. Move it with one hand no problem.

They are spendy, but I went ahead and bought one when I ordered the stove. With what these weigh, it was a no brainer for me. It also made the install much easier. But there is a thread showing some of the rails that people have made. Some pretty good ideas in there.

That is a good price! Still crazy how much they are but if it slides out that easy I might have to invest in one.

This is incredibly good info. You'd be surprised how hard it was for me to find feedback from somebody who actually owns one. Thank you. It's a lot of money but ease and accessibility are very important to me. I'm not getting any younger and I already had a finger/hatchet mishap. I'm not looking for a busted back, smashed foot, or damaged merchandise.

I got mine when I bought my stove. Don't even know what it cost me don't want to know. Glad I got it. Bolts right up and the insert glides right out.

Your last thread inspired me to make some traction on this. I just did a thorough 'Level 1&2' cleaning and used a flue brush up the exhaust and a bunch of gunk came out. It's time to open 'er up and clean the bottom of the flue.

Coastal Farm and Ranch (headquartered in Oregon) is selling them for $299. I'm going up to Mt. Vernon to buy one.
