Anyone use Mag1 two cycle oil in their saws. I was looking for some 80-90 & found a case of it.

nope, I use Bel-Ray H1R in my 2 stroke stuff.

I have always used Stihl oil the past but Dad had a case of this stuff & the price is right ;) . I didn’t see a thread on this but maybe I didn’t dig deep enough.

TC-W3 means watercraft to me. I know it says land use but I dunno. Watercraft run cooler. I like seeing the JASO-FD rating for my saws. That oil may be aimed at poulan 361 or Homey SXL or Mac 10-10, not a 13000 RPM screamer of today.

That’s why I am inquiring, the price won’t be right if I melt my saws engines. Running it in a 011 AV, manual says 40:1 for it, also running it in a 271 Farm Boss.

According to JASO specs FD has more detergeny, blows less smoke & exhaust fumes than FB or that’s how I interpreted it. If I was more tech savvy I would post the link. I will keep working on it. Thanks for the info. I appreciate it.

I run nothing but Stihl synthetic in my saws...they are worth it. I saw pictures of engines at my Stihl dealers shop of engines ran on regular Stihl mix and the synthetic there was a big difference...they even doubled the warranty when you purchased new and a 6 pack of the synthetic mix at the time.

the dealer said run the stihl oil and gave me a pack, he said you can run whatever bar oil you want but this is the best for it not going to skimp there, they arent that bad anyway

I agree with Tar12 I only run what stihl recommends for their saws. Not worth it to me to try and save a few bucks on something like that. Plus as said earlier they usually extend the warranty with new purchases when you run their oil. Must mean something other than just trying to make a sale.

I do not run any multipurpose 2-cycle oil in my chainsaws. That is, if it has a "W" rating for water cooled 2-cycle engines, I don't use it in my air cooled 2-cycle engines.

Keyword search: TCW3 CHAINSAWS (lots of info in the bobistheoilguy discussions)

That's pretty low end oil, I'm familiar with it. I'd use it in a pinch, but if I had a choice, I'd donate that to someone else.

Thanks for the valuable info folks. That’s why I asked, figured most of you had probably either used it, heard about it or had pretty strong opinions on what to use. Like I said earlier I had always used Stihl oil in the past. Sounds like even if it’s free the price isn’t right. ;)
