Hi all,
I am hoping to install my P43 this weekend into an existing exhaust pipe from previous stove. The old stove didnt have an OAK but I would like to hook one up with this install. The stove actually came with Harmans kit but would require me to swap out wall thimbles and dont really want to do that.

What are my other options for an OAK that I can pick up in a store this weekend? Dont have time to order online. Really just need the 2 cap pieces that attched to the wall since I have the pipe. To clarify, I am not looking for a setup where both exhaust and OAK go through the same thimble.

Does Lowes sell something and I am not searching for the right words?

Thanks

Not real sure why you don't want to use Harmans thimble arrangement as it is simple and doesn't require a extra hole in the wall.

I am missing the exterior piece of Harmans kit. I dont want to pay $300 when i just need that piece.

Just my 2 cents but, if you need a part and or time to make it or buy it used and you didn't have a OAK before I would skip that for now.

The stove already has the little oak punchout removed. Would that be an issue to run without one?

So I am assuming you are referring to the sheet metal knock out in the panel to fit the OAK flex hose, If so , no it does not matter. It will use inside air instead of outside air..

Do you know where i can find instructions for installing the harman oak?
Its real easy with two pieces like your other one except the outside piece has louvers that let outside air in and the inside one has a short pipe pointing to the back of stove just measure distance from the short pipe to the pipe on the back of stove and get a length of flex pipe from a car parts store the right size diameter and slip it on to the stove and the short pipe. There might be a metal shield in the way on the stove depending which model you have. I have a PC45 and there was one guard that had a piece that was indented so just used a plier and bent it a couple times and it came off so the flex pipe could fit through it.

I believe your air inlet is the same as mine. I bought a 2" vent from stove parts.com. Just the wall vent without the pipe, and I used a 2" exhaust pipe that I bought from Advance auto parts. It is an 18" section that is 2 inch and then has a flange to 2 and one eighth.

The inside diameter of my stove, and I would bet yours is 2.5", so I used some left over fiberglass door gasket to stuff in between the exaust pipe, and then came back with High temp rtv and sealed the pipe to the air inlet.

It is only 57 degrees out, but so far, it burns fine!
