About 8 years ago or so I contacted a cemetery as I saw downed Mulberry trees and asked permission to take some out and they said "take all you want, it's helping us!". A few weeks ago I drove past this cemetery again and on the corner but still their property I saw some nice sections of Cherry that had been taken down awhile ago as it was getting dry already so I called and asked about that and the guy put me on hold and got back and said "not right now, maybe in a few weeks" and I thought about it and said "okay, I don't see what difference a few weeks will make but I'll try again". The only thing I can come up with is maybe the wood is promised to someone who said they were coming back for it, but they might have said "so and so says he's taking it but that's been two months now, we'll give him a few more weeks and if he doesn't get it we'll let this guy take it".
Do you guys see any other explanation? I figured pressing the issue wouldn't get me anywhere and maybe they would then just say "no" so I left it go; if I get it, fine, if not that's okay too.
