I'm looking into purchasing a new Pellet Stove and was almost set on the Accentra 52i-TC. However, upon looking on Craigslist, I found a Harman Accentra Insert that was manufactured in Nov. 2012.

Seller is a pellet stove dealer, but not Harmans. He told me it has been run on average about 6-10 times per year since they bought it because it is in their cabin in the mountains.

I'm wondering if this would be a good deal and what you pros thought about this?

They have cut the panel to fit in to their insert however, they are replacing the panels with new ones.

He wants $2500 for it, which is roughly 50% cheaper than getting the 52i-TC. I don't need all the new bells an whistles, just need something that will be significantly better than my Whitfield Profile 30 Insert.

House is 2200 Sq. Ft.

Please let me know if there

Here are the pictures and it looks like it is barely used.

This is his description:
This is a barely used large Harman pellet stove insert, works great and produces allot of low cost heat. It retails new for 4000.00

I owned a Harman Accentra for 15 years. It was a pain to maintain and clean. It's complex design makes it a constant irritant. It is also way under powered for your application. I replaced it with a Harman P43 and all my problems with the Accentra went away. A P43 is probably too small. Your original idea is better, or a P61 might also be good. Anything but an Accentra.

I have an Accentra insert. I bought it used, it was one year old, and paid $2000 CDN, which I thought was a good deal. The only condition: I had to remove it, which worked out because I was able to take all of the piping.

That was 10 years ago, and I've enjoyed the stove since then. I've had one issue: the weldment attachment has failed, resulting in a small hole near where the auger tube connects to the burn pot. I've welded it twice, the first time not very well, obviously. The second repair was much better and has held up.

2000 would be a closer price but it’s a good stove. The 52i is a little easier to do the annual cleaning on but if you hire that out it’s no sweat for you. The acc tends to burn a little cleaner than the 52i in my opinion. Of course a 2 year factory warranty is worth a lot, and even without being used heavily you will still probably have some bad bearings in your motors within the first couple years.there are pros and cons but either stove is solid.
