Hello, I’ve been running my new Harman p35 insert stove for about a week now. It has been running in room temp mode set at about 68 degrees during the day. Today is the first day I’m seeing a large build up of “material” in the burn pot. I’ve uploaded a photo. The burn pot was cleaned about 24 hours ago. Is this build up normal? If not, any suggestions on adjustments to make? Thanks!

Looks normal to me (I have H XXV). Mine does the same. I just scrap it into bin and vac it out and clean out the carbon with tool. Just did the Major Maintenance after 1/2 Ton. Easy to clean stove.

Ash build up is normal. To me, the burnpot shield is not seated correctly on the burnpot. I can see the grooves on both sides. On my Harman p68, all of that is flush. Looks like it needs flipped around.

I will have to clean it out really well tomorrow after it cools down. I haven't seen that much ash build up yet in the burn pot. I see what you're saying about the shield though. It has always looked a little "off" to me, but I haven't tried to adjust it since it was installed in August by Superior Fireplace. I see you're in Hughesville... I'm in Mechanicsville.

Yup, that place is about 4 minutes from where I live. Not a fan of them though. They refused to sell me pellets because I was "not an existing customer". Gave them a piece of my mind about that.

Here is what my burnpot looks like as of this morning. Notice how the shield is flush. On yours the more I look at it, it's not seated correctly. You can see how the right groove is showing more than the left and it doesn't need flipped around. May also sit flush on top of the burnpot. Play with it once it cools down the manual may show a picture as well. I get the same ash build up. It happens more on low burn. You are probably using hamer hot ones that they sell?

Good info! Thank you! It has been burning pretty low/on demand, so that explains the ash. I have been using the pellets they sell. Since today is looking to be a warmer one I should be able to make some adjustments this evening.
