Feeling the Heat

Eastern PA
Our very old heat pump finally failed and needs to be replaced. I have an HVAC contractor coming in tomorrow to install a new system, but will have no heat until the end of the day tomorrow. In my area of eastern PA , the temps are supposed to drop overnight to the low 30s...but I'm not worried. I have the Hampton HI300 insert cranked up and the whole downstairs of my home is at a toasty 74 degrees and the upstairs about 71:)

Taking the day off tomorrow to watch the install and feed the insert...it's very nice to have wood heat back up when you need it! Burn on brothers:)

We just had an issue with our propane furnace not coming on. Thankfully we only use it when we are on vacation or a few days during the shoulder season. I put 100 gallons in our tank every three years or so. Having the wood stove as a primary heat source is wonderful. The house is so much warmer and we are not dependent upon a electrical or gas source for our heating needs.

I am always thankful for wood heat when the power goes out. That and a propane cooktop make it tolerable.
