Last winter the stove ran great. Summer came and i unplugged it. 2 days ago i went to turn it on for the first time. I hit the on button and after one minute i got error code 6. Which means bad ignitor. So i pulled the ignitor and it looked fine. But i got a new just in case. I put the new one in and i still get error code 6. So i grab my meter and hit on and after exactly one minute of running it sends power to the igniter for 2 seconds and then shuts off on error code 6. So now i unplug the power leads from the board to the igniter and hit on again and i still get error code 6. The fuses are all fine. As soon as it tries to send power to the ignitor it shuts off on error 6. What kills me is it ran fine all last winter. The only thing i did was unplug it for the summer. Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this. I unplugged the ignitor wires from the board and still getting bad ignitor cose 6. I even reset the board by pressing and holding in the 2 aux buttons. I'm afraid its the board that needs replacing For almost $600. Crazy. It sat unplugged all summer and thats what damaged the board ????. Makes no sense.

I would pull the board and look for signs of corrosion. If u have a jewlers magnifying headset or a good magnifying glass look for broken/cracked solder joints or broken traces on the board

Er 6 is thrown when an open or shorted igniter circuit is detected. Unplugging it will cause it to throw the same code and makes troubleshooting a real b*tch. So, with your new, known (assumed at least) good igniter you still get Er 6.
Zrock there is spot on. CAREFULLY pull the board. Take pictures before you unplug stuff. Label similar looking stuff with tape or similar. Be careful of static. Those boards are super dee duper easy to kill. Then look for the stuff zrock mentioned.

I have 2 of these pellet stoves and i have been running them with no ignitors. After the ignitors died i removed them and capped the wires and used a torch to light the pellets. When you start these pellet stoves the auger runs for exactly 1 minute then the ignitor comes on. Right now whats happening is at the 1 minute time the board sends power to the ignitor for about 1second that i see with my meter and then it shuts down with the error code 6. Bad or shorted ignitor. I hooked up a light bulb to the power source off the board and the light bulb turns on for a quick 1 second and then i get error code 6. I purchased a new ignitor and it still does the same thing. I did find some green corrosion on 2 pins and onto the board of the optocouple on the circuit for the ignitor. So it wants to send power to the ignitor, but it only lets it happen for a split second before faulting with code 6.
