Question about Jotul C450 Fan

I am in the process of installing a C450 Kennebec, and I'd like to test the blower before the final install. I have heard that this blower is on a thermostat, and I hope that is the case. When I plug the unit into the wall, and turn the switch to lo or high, the fans do not spin. Is there a way to test the unit when no fire is burning? Thanks for any advice.
 
Unplug the blower from the household electrical system & trace the blower wiring circuit.
There will be a snap disk (thermodisk) in the system,
which closes after heating up, so that only heated air will be moved.
You should be able to remove the spade connectors from each side of the disk
& connect them together with a double male spade (or a jumper wire).
Plug the power cord in & your blower should operate...
 
Does the switch next to the blower speed knob not have 3 positions? Off-Auto-On.

Bummer. Hi is just a little too loud for me but running about 80-85% provides a nice balance.
 
Late to the party, but if the blower is not installed yet, there is a disk looking thing, kind of like a remote car starter battery, near the switch. Heat that with a lighter, and you'll hear it snap - snapstat I think is what they call it. If it's already installed, I've had decent luck tricking it into snapping on by heating the area just above the switch. Particularly helpful when you have a buildup of ash in the firebox. It acts as an insulator for a while. When I want heat in a hurry, I pull all the ash away from that area, and it heats up/turns on quicker.
