I have an old Englander pvd, a part on the bottom auger went and i had it repaired by my handyman. He cleaned it all out again, and it was ready to go. Pellets were put back in and since the igniter refuses to work I usually use igniter fluid and did what I usually do. On both occasions, the stove shut down and smoke filled the house. There were a lot of pellets in the burn pot. Not sure what could have caused it but the code was E2. I’m leaving it alone for the night just to let it cool down.
Any thoughts? He also re-aligned the vent pipe outside and secured hat he extra draft in the stove was taken care of... #thisshitisforthebirds

Stove model and year would help .

Is the OAK CONNECTED ON THIS STOVE . O A K = outside air connection .

If someone was in there I’d be looking for loose or wires that have been knocked off the vacuum switches to start with and go from there. Also make sure that your exhaust is clear.

Thank you will do! I believe that the exhaust is clean as he cleaned it out. I’m trying it one more time today and then if it’s not working I’ll have to try to have him look at it again.

So it was the heat sensor that needed replacing. Now it’s done and running well but doesn’t seem to be kicking off as much heat as before. I have the bottom 3 numbers at 3-5-1... any thoughts?

4-4-1 then 5-4-1(factory) if still need more and these lower 3 settings only affect heat ranges 1&2

what heat setting have you got it set to?

if its burning good on 2 with 3-5-1 leave iy just raise your heat range up 1 or 2

Smoke will only come back in the house if you don't have it quite right. You need to have an extension outside the house that goes up at least eight feet for a natural draw at the power goes out that prevents the smoke from coming in from the stove when the power goes out

I think he changed his thermister and fixed the problem. Englander only requires 3’ vertical rise. Inside or out.

Yeah I had an englander which I really liked until it stopped working and The Englander people over the phone could not figure out what the issue was. I replaced the exhaust blower and the convection blower and that did not fix the problem and at that point I was not about to spend money on a new control board. I had a 55shp and ended up giving it away because they couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. Sure did love it for the four or five years I had it. I think all pellet stoves are great until they start acting up

Check to make sure that the hose that goes from the vacuum switch to the combustion fan is connected and in good shape. The handyman may have forgotten to connect it.
