Elm perplexes me.

American Elm the reason I bought a splitter !!!
Yep. Once in awhile I'll be feeding wood to the stove and come across a piece like this which reminds me.

Gotta love it! And that's one medium size round, probably been run through the splitter about 6 times and it's STILL all attached!! !!!
thats why i keep a hatchet and a splitting stump near the splitter...

Some of us keep saying you have to wait till it's good and cold out to bust this stuff up.It splits very nicely when it's cold out.

There are different kinds of elm. American or red elm is what I like. Like others have said that’s why I bought a hydro splitter. Just went for a ride through the woods and spotted a couple starting to shed its bark. I’ll be getting after them. It makes good heat
