They range from $3300.00 - 3800.00 The 509-1 Optimum vertical-burning stove. The stoves are assembled at the 509 Fabrication facility at 6512 W. Seltice Way, in Post Falls, Idaho. I saw this unit at a booth at our county fair this last summer, This thing is Badass.

Yep, that's right Mark. Biggest damn pellets you ever will see. $6.38 for a six pack at lowes,just the thought makes me thirsty.And those are supersized 'pellets' in the rack

Giant pellets FTW!
I burn what I call giant pellets in my cordwood insert, about a third of my fuel. They are tough to keep burning optimally through their full burn though - they tend to settle to a smolder that does bring more buildup in my flue. I will guess that's easier to manage in something like this, but wonder what the feed mechanism is like.

It's a gravity feed system, you just drop 1 or 2 logs down that stack on top of the stove and they just feed themselves down as they burn. Now what keeps them from burning up the tube they are inside of is a Question in itself.

That's a really neat idea. Doesn't seem like something that would catch traction on a national scale.

Not sure what the BTU is and I highly doubt you will see any of these in any Walmart anytime soon..

It has a combustion and room blower,and igniter,same as a pellet stove.The hopper has a gasket,the convection blower,and airflow keeps the logs from burning up the tube.Btu's=12,000 to 42,000.Up to 14 hours burn time with full load,3&1/2 logs.I do not see a big market for this unit,but I voted for it,during the expo.The combustion blower runs full time,and,you change heat levels by closing/opening the air inlet.
