Mine is inside and never removed it. I take the soot eater from the outside, run it through 1 90 bend and straight down. You can tell when it is at the bottom of the tee. I also have the ash vaccum running rom the horizontal run (esp area) to get the loose ash. I will do this process a few times then also use the blower port to blow from esp area and pipe out. This is for a harman p68.
I also take my 4” brush and run it from the top of the chimney all the way down to the bottom the cleanout. Then I open the combustion blower cover and use a rubber tube extension on my ashvac to reach all the way through the flue, past the ESP and to the bottom of the cleanout.
Has anyone ever removed their cleanout bottom cap and found large deposits or creosote?

I pull the cap and use a rubber band to attach a plastic bag over the end before running a 4" brush down the whole ~20' chimney a bit at a time. Then I pull the ESP and do a good 3" brush from the stove all the way out to the T so that any deposits end up in the bag.

Interesting setup. Are you a full vertical run? If so is your pipe strapped somewhere in the attic to hold the weight?

The pipe goes into a chimney, and a new liner goes all the way to the top. I believe the liner is secured at the top of the chimney, but that's a guess, because the dealer installed it (the installer owns the dealership with his dad). The pellet stove replaced a wood stove that came with the house, and I believe the wood stove and chimney were part of the addition when it was built, about fifteen years ago. The wood stove never worked right--every time we tried to light it, it smoked us out of the house. We were happy to see it go, since my sister had wanted a pellet stove anyway.

I have one but every time the power goes out it starts beeping and the stove shuts down. I actually blew the main porcelain fuse one time. Which one do you have?
