Oops! That should have been 17 (seventeen), not 117 (a hundred seventeen) above normal, lol! We got a lot of rain, but not 10" extra a month!

OK! That's just about what we had extra. FYI I live just a few miles from the Port Jeff ferry if you know it.

Know it well. Grew up in Trumbull and now living in Shelton after a few decades out of state.

I know that ferry too. Rode it as a kid. It was a windy day on the sound and the boat was doing some long rides up and down the troughs in the waves. I thought it was cool to run the deck while this was happening, it felt like anti-gravity. Unfortunately just earlier I had chowed down a hot dog, which a little later came up. It was the first time I got seasick. That totally befuddled me as a kid, but fortunately once we were on land it cleared up and I was fine.

What goes down must come up. And yeah the sound can get snotty especially around this time of year.

The ferry has become quite a business. They run three now at peak times and have upgraded facilities on both ends. Not sure the capacity but they're pretty big. Not just passenger cars these days but a fair amount of tradesman and other commercial vehicles wanting to bypass city traffic.

Wilmington NC got over 100 inches of rain in 2018! That’s nuts... Tennessee also broke records nearing 70 inches of rain. Even beating Seattle! [emoji1745]‍[emoji3603]
