Pretty sure control valve has failed (4th time in 20 years). From what I gather that OEM valve (VS8420e 2020 LP) was prone to failure, which has certainly been my experience. Does anyone know if this retrofit kit solves the problem, and lasts longer than the crappy VS8420 valve the stove came with?

I posted a similar question about diagnosing this valve yesterday, don't mean to hog the forum, but no replies so thought I'd try this more specific quesiton. Many thanks for any insights you can offer!

I have installed these kits. Nice to get out of the Honeywell failure loop. I've always taken the engine out of the fireplace (very easy on B Vent models, on DV models there is a Fiberfrax (cerawool) gasket to watch out for. Removal just makes access so much easier, and allows for bench testing the assembly before reinstallation.
